1. Print specifications

File requirements

  • PDF (preferred)
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • QuarkXpress (version 8 or newer)

Fonts

  • Supply all fonts used to create the ad
  • For black text, avoid using registration black (100% C, 100% M, 100% Y, 100% K)

Image file formats

Supply all images used to create the ad.

  • EPS
  • PSD
  • JPG
  • TIFF

Acceptable image color modes

Color conversions may result in undesired color variation. To minimize the risk of undesired color conversions, supply artwork in CMYK mode.

  • EPS
  • CMYK
  • Spot color (Pantone); excludes Coupon Book FSI
  • Grayscale
  • 300 dpi
  • Black & white line art images in 1-bit TIFF format (600 - 1200 dpi)
  • 280% (or less) total ink density (see Art Submission Guide)
  • Artwork supplied in RGB mode will be converted to a CMYK color space without notice.
  • Artwork supplied using spot colors will be converted to a CMYK color space without notice.

Black version changes

It is recommended that files are supplied in layers for black version changes:

  • Common 4-color base (master)
  • Black versions
