RRD’s proprietary semi-permanent CleanTac® label solution replaces outdated tent cards, provides cost savings for leading hospitality enterprise

CHALLENGE

A global hospitality enterprise faced recurring challenges with their in-room tent cards, which were frequently discarded, damaged, or taken home by guests. The situation led to waste from unnecessary expenses and operational inefficiencies. Ultimately, the hotel chain sought external support from a trusted partner and a durable, cost-effective alternative solution that would both eliminate the need for tent cards and enhance the guest experience.

SOLUTION

A decade-long relationship with RRD led the company to once again turn to RRD for a solution. RRD’s labels experts developed a semi-permanent label featuring a QR code specific to each hotel property. Applied to a desk or nightstand, these QR codes direct guests to their respective hotel’s menu options, providing a seamless and modern alternative to traditional tent cards. 

Working closely alongside the client to provide consultative support, the RRD team recommended suitable materials for different environments, ensuring maximum durability and functionality across various applications. The labels were produced using RRD’s proprietary CleanTac® adhesive, a material that can be repositioned multiple times, removed cleanly, and retain durability despite exposure to cleaning supplies and other environmental factors. CleanTac adhesive is specially formulated to be directly applied to various surfaces without damaging those surfaces or leaving residue behind once removed. 

RESULTS

RRD helped the company successfully transition from tent cards to a more durable QR code CleanTac label — an efficient and guest-friendly solution. RRD’s role in developing and presenting this innovative solution, coupled with material testing and recommendations, led to the following results:
